U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel will host a meeting of defense ministers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) for the first time on U.S. soil. The U.S.-ASEAN defense forum will discuss ways of improving trust between the region’s militaries to ease tensions in the South China Sea over competing maritime claims.
