Cities Around the World Switch Off Lights for the Annual Earth Hour

Various cities around the world have plunged into darkness for the annual Earth Hour.It starts in New Zealand and sweeps through each time zone for 24 hours. About 7-thousand cities have participated in the event, including Sydney, Dubai, Paris, Chengdu, Singapore, and New York. Lights on landmarks of more than 154 countries were swithced off. Earth Hour is meant as a show of support for tougher action to confront climate change.
