Wang Guan

Wang Guan is currently CCTV’s senior U.S. Correspondent based in Washington D.C. He has covered virtually all major events shaping and defining China-U.S. relations for the past 8 years, from both Beijing and Washington. He is also the White House correspondent for CCTV’s mandarin service.

Before his relocation to the United States, Wang Guan was the Chief China Correspondent for CCTV’s English language news network–CCTV News–in Beijing. He has broken stories from virtually all of China’s 34 provinces

His reporting journeys have taken him deep inside North Korea, Pakistan and Russia, among other regions, to investigate regional and global geo-political and economic issues. Prominent news-makers he has met and interviewed include Dr. Henry Kissinger, former Pakistani President Asif Zardari, Jon Huntsman, Elaine Chao, IOC President Jacques Rogge, and former Chinese Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing.
