Venezuela Snaps Ties with Panama

Venezuelan President calls for peace conference

In a significant development, Venezuela has announced the cutting of diplomatic ties with Panama. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro accused the country of being a “lackey” for the United States in a conspiracy plot against his government and for taking part in a U.S. led attempt to “interfere” militarily in Venezuela to carry out a regime change. Panama has expressed surprise at Maduro’s decision. CCTV’s Martin Markovits reports from Caracas.
