Joaquin Guzman, known as “El Chapo”, was regarded as the world’s most powerful drug smuggler. Last week, Mexican authorities finally captured him after he escaped from a Mexican prison in 2001. At least seven U.S. courts have indictments pending against him, and several are pressing for extradition. In Mexico, he faces organized-crime charges in four Mexican states and in Mexico City. He could, barring another escape, spend the rest of his life behind bars. CCTV’s John Holman gives us a rare glimpse into where the drug lord lived and worked.
