Internet search giant Yahoo recently announced plans to move its European tax base from Switzerland to Ireland. Yahoo is among the many U.S. companies being lured by the emerald isle’s low tax rates. Currently, over 700 U.S companies are based in Ireland. Leading investors are increasingly showing interest in moving to Ireland thanks to its attractive corporate tax rates of 12.5 per cent.
But that’s also stirring controversy around the European Union. CCTV’s Lourda Sexton reports.
